CULINARY UNESCO recognized the origin of the three countries as the best in the world, namely France, Japan, and the Mediterranean. What about Indonesia?
After the three countries, following the Korean, Spanish, and Italian culinary world’s best will be recognized. Seeing this fact, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparenkraf) believe that the culinary Indonesia would lead to the same recognition.
“Food does not need to be patented, then we should get the recognition that the world could be famous culinary Indonesia. That we have done,” said Poppy Savitri as Director of Development Self Pekerti Kemenparenkraf to Legal after the ceremony “Kukuhkan Semur as Indonesia Identity Through the Eyes of the World” along Bango in Resto Duck Bengil, Central Jakarta, Thursday (27/10/2011).
He emphasized that the public does not have to worry about the claims of certain countries to culinary archipelago. “We’re baseball not panic because there has been misguided in thinking about the patent community. Cultural heritage can not be patented or claimed,” he said.
Although it does not need a patent or a claim, the recognition of the culinary world is necessary for Indonesia. Recognition is a means for the identity of Indonesia.
